Men’s Fashion Trends in Chattanooga 2025

Fashion isn’t just for women — and 2025 proves it. Across Chattanooga, men of all ages are embracing personal style as a way to express confidence and individuality. From tailored sophistication to casual cool, today’s men are blending classic looks with contemporary comfort.

Tradition Meets Modern Casual

At Yacoubian Tailors, a family business founded in 1969, owner Hovig Yacoubian has seen men’s style evolve dramatically.
“Post-COVID, people aren’t dressing up as much as before,” he says. “We’ve adapted by adding more casual pieces — five-pocket pants, relaxed collared shirts — while keeping our core of fine tailoring.”

Still, Yacoubian emphasizes that formalwear holds power: “People take cues from how you dress. A good suit can set you apart.” His clientele ranges from young professionals in their twenties to clients in their nineties, many seeking the balance between credibility and comfort.

The Next Generation: Streetwear With Purpose

At the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, twin brothers Demerius and Demichael Ikponmwosa are reshaping what student fashion means. Together, they founded the streetwear brand Thank Mosa — derived from their Nigerian last name, meaning “Thank God.” Their label fuses faith-based messages with modern streetwear design, featuring Bible verses and bold statements.

The brothers also lead ELTF (Elevating Life Through Fashion), a student organization that hosts style discussions, fashion trivia nights, and “fit checks” across campus.

“When it comes to job interviews, many guys today prefer business casual over full suits,” says Demerius. “Clean jeans, a solid shirt — it’s about looking sharp without being stiff.”

For the everyday college student, functionality is key. “Not everyone wants to wake up early and plan outfits,” adds Demichael, laughing. “But even when I dress comfortably, I make sure something matches — style is still personal.”

TikTok Trends and the Rise of “Older Brother Core”

On social media, especially TikTok, new aesthetics are reshaping men’s wardrobes. One rising trend, “older brother core,” draws inspiration from early 2000s looks — think baggy jeans, fingerless gloves, wallet chains, and beanies. It’s nostalgic, playful, and effortlessly cool.

The Mullet Revival

In Chattanooga’s grooming scene, retro meets modern. At Urban Cowboy Studio, owner Ashton Williams says the modern mullet has made a huge comeback.
“It gives personality without being over the top,” he explains. “You can look clean in the front, and still have that stylish flow in the back.”

Facial hair is also seeing fresh twists. “Short beards with longer mustaches are big right now,” says Williams. “It’s that perfect balance between clean-cut and rugged.”

Urban Cowboy Studio, known for its inclusive atmosphere, welcomes all hair textures and backgrounds. “The barbershop can be a safe space for men to talk and decompress,” Williams adds.

Redefining Confidence Through Style

From traditional tailoring to creative streetwear and revived retro trends, Chattanooga’s fashion scene shows that style is personal, expressive, and evolving. Whether it’s a carefully tailored suit, a casual college fit, or a daring new haircut — local men are proving that what you wear truly shapes how you feel.
