Copenhagen Fashion Week officially launches its 20th anniversary this January, as the Autumn/Winter 2026 edition runs from January 27 to 29. What began as a regional showcase has evolved into one of Europe’s most influential fashion platforms, known for its forward-looking approach and strong sustainability agenda.
A Curated Lineup of Regional and Global Voices
This season’s calendar brings together established names and rising talents from across the Nordic region and beyond. Among the highlights are the return of Paolina Russo, winner of the Zalando Visionary Award 2024, and Nazzal Studio, recipient of the Franca Sozzani Debut Talent Award in the same year. The event will also mark the debut of Danish menswear label O. Files, presenting within the official schedule for the first time.
NewTalent Programme Welcomes Emerging Designers
The NewTalent initiative continues to spotlight the next generation of designers. For AW26, Stem joins the programme alongside returning brands Bonnetje and Anne Sofie Madsen. Studio Constance, Sson and Taus have been named “One To Watch” and will present their upcoming collections through a mix of runway shows and presentations.
A New “Homecoming” Moment
This season introduces a new Homecoming format, created to celebrate Nordic brands returning to the official schedule after seasons abroad. For January 2026, Holzweiler has been selected as the first recipient of this recognition.
Marking a Milestone Year
Chief executive Cecilie Thorsmark described the anniversary as an opportunity not only to reflect on the journey so far, but also to look ahead. She noted that the last few years have been particularly challenging for the global fashion industry, testing creativity and resilience at every level. Despite this, the Nordic fashion scene has continued to strengthen its international presence, with Copenhagen Fashion Week playing an active role in that growth.
Zalando Visionary Award Finalists Revealed
The finalists for the 2026 Zalando Visionary Award have also been announced: Institution, Kyle Ho and Milk of Lime. Each brand has been selected for its approach to innovation, design and social impact.
The winner will be revealed on January 28 during fashion week, followed by a curated presentation of the finalists’ work and a panel discussion moderated by Giuliano Calza, founder and creative director of GCDS. The winning brand will go on to present its Spring/Summer 2027 collection on the runway during the August 2026 edition.
As Copenhagen Fashion Week enters its third decade, the event looks firmly toward the future — with a commitment to creative independence, responsible fashion and global relevance.
