Mouna Ayoub Hosts a Grand Dior Haute Couture Auction in Paris

Renowned couture collector and socialite Mouna Ayoub is set to sell 126 pieces of Christian Dior haute couture at a live auction in Paris on January 29 at the Bristol Hotel. The sale is organised by Maurice Auction in collaboration with Kerry Taylor Auctions, and represents one of the most significant private Dior couture collections ever offered publicly.

The auction — titled Dior Masterpieces: The Mouna Ayoub Haute Couture Collection — includes pieces dating from 1984 to 2022, covering major creative eras of the House of Dior. The selection spans designs by influential couturiers such as Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, as well as later artistic directors Raf Simons and Maria Grazia Chiuri. Many items are described as preserved in nearly untouched condition, reflecting Ayoub’s meticulous care for her wardrobe.

Ayoub has been collecting haute couture for more than four decades and is known for owning one of the world’s most prestigious private wardrobes. She selects the most iconic and emblematic models from each season, viewing her collection almost as a museum of fashion history. Pieces by John Galliano hold particular importance in her assemblage, with models from his groundbreaking shows — such as Maasai (autumn/winter 1997), Mata Hari (1997–98) and Diorient Express (1998) — forming highlights of the auction catalogue.

A viewing exhibition for the sale is open on January 27 and 28 at the Bristol (112 Rue du Faubourg Saint‑Honoré, Paris), before bidding begins January 29. Bidders may participate in person, by phone, or online through platforms such as Drouot.com and Invaluable.

This auction follows Ayoub’s previous high‑profile sales of couture and luxury collections, including a major Chanel couture auction and other designer lots in Paris. Her longstanding passion for collecting and presenting fashion as art has made her wardrobe legendary in fashion circles.
