Colombian Creativity on the Global Stage
This September, Bogotá’s fashion industry made history as thirteen emerging brands from San Victorino and Restrepo debuted at two of the world’s most prestigious fashion platforms — MOMAD 2025 in Madrid and New York Fashion Week (NYFW). Backed by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, these designers brought fresh energy, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit to the international spotlight.
MOMAD 2025: Sustainability and Innovation
At the Madrid International Fashion Fair, seven designers — El Maletero, Seven7, NK, Kott Risk, OC59, With Love María, and Santina Boots — presented their Spring/Summer collections on the Colectivo Bogotá Runway and at the Bogotá Fashion Week stand. Their work highlighted sustainability, innovation, and local identity, blending modern design with cultural roots. Ovidio Claros, CEO of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the achievement: “This milestone reflects the pride of internationalizing Bogotá’s businesses and showcasing their talent to the world.”
New York Fashion Week: A Historic Milestone
Shortly after Madrid, eight brands — Cannabis, Divina Collection, ISMO, Lisantiny, NUNK/NK, Seven7, PLUR, and UANA — took the stage at NYFW-FDLA, thanks to a partnership with Fashion Designers of Latin America. Beyond the runway, the program included a Fashion Talk, Times Square screenings, and a curated pop-up. Spanish designer Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada praised the show, saying: “I’m a total fan of Colombia; this experience was pure joy.”
Designers Reflect on the Experience
For Bogotá’s creatives, NYFW was more than a showcase — it was a life-changing opportunity. Andrés Naranjo, creative director of UANA, shared: “This experience has been a dream come true. We leave with our hearts full, knowing many doors will open.”
The Puente Program: Bridging Local Talent with Global Markets
The presence of Bogotá’s brands at both events highlights the success of the Puente program, which provides mentorship, curatorship, and global positioning for grassroots designers. It demonstrates how Bogotá and Colombia are shaping their place as creative hubs where tradition evolves into innovation, proving that local talent can thrive internationally.
