BAPE marks 25 years of Leather Classic Down

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of one of its most iconic jackets, BAPE has reintroduced the Leather Classic Down in a commemorative edition alongside refreshed standard colorways. First released in 2000, the model quickly became a symbol of luxury streetwear by combining bold design with exceptional warmth and material quality.

The Limited 25th Edition

The anniversary version is manufactured in Japan using carefully selected sheepskin leather known for its softness and durability. Only 50 pieces have been produced worldwide, making the jacket a true collector’s item. Design details include gold snap buttons on the front and a navy BAPE CAMO jacquard lining inside.

Each jacket features an embossed leather “25” patch on the collar and an individual serial number, reinforcing its limited status. The presentation also includes a custom wooden hanger engraved with the anniversary mark and a garment cover with signature camo print, enhancing its luxury presentation.

Premium Insulation and Construction

The jacket is filled with high-grade down selected for warmth and lightness. A combination of zipper and snap closure provides extra insulation against cold weather, while snap-fastened cuffs improve comfort and fit. Together, these features ensure functionality matches premium design.

Standard Color Editions

Alongside the limited release, BAPE has brought back the Leather Classic Down in three permanent colors: brown, black, and purple. Each version uses high-quality leather and features a matching interior lining for a cohesive look. Brown highlights the natural texture of the leather, black delivers a classic finish, and purple offers a bold modern alternative.

Why This Release Matters

The 25th anniversary reinforces the status of the Leather Classic Down as a defining outerwear piece in streetwear history. The limited edition emphasizes collectability and craftsmanship, while the standard models keep the design accessible for everyday wear. Together, they celebrate both heritage and continued innovation within the brand.
