A New Chapter with Moncler Genius
Moncler and Edward Enninful have introduced Moncler x EE72, the latest Genius collaboration. This marks Enninful’s debut into fashion design under the Moncler Genius banner. With this collection, Enninful envisions the wardrobe of a fashionable global adventurer, a hero prepared to face extreme terrains such as wind-blasted dunes, breezy coasts, and snow-topped peaks.
EE72: Identity and Inspiration
The name EE72 merges Enninful’s initials and birth year, signaling the personal nature of this project. Enninful also recently launched a global media and entertainment company named EE72, with Moncler as its first co-creator, aligning storytelling with design.
Design Philosophy: Function, Modularity, Couture
The collection blends Moncler’s expertise in technical outerwear with couture references and structured silhouettes. Its core elements are adaptability and layering: each piece responds to shifting weather and terrain while maintaining a coherent narrative.
Three Natural Forces, Three Looks
The collection is structured around three elemental themes. For windstorms, the key look is a matte trench coat paired with a detachable glossy nylon puffer, designed with straps that allow it to be worn as a backpack, completed with a hood that doubles as a scarf and cloche-style sunglasses. For sandstorms, the highlight is a slim scuba dress paired with a sculptural hooded cape and a long floor-sweeping scarf, balancing heritage puff elements with freedom of movement. For snowstorms, the focus is on layering: a fine wool turtleneck, cardigan dress, oversized merino wool jacket, a protective balaclava, and Trailgrip EE72 boots. Each look follows a clear logic of base layers, removable protective outer layers, and accessories that support adaptability without breaking the aesthetic.
Campaign & Launch Details
The visual campaign is shot by Tyler Mitchell and features model Adut Akech. It moves between landscapes of sand and snow, embodying raw, remote terrain and a heroic adventurer figure. The launch is paired with an immersive window installation at Saks Fifth Avenue’s New York flagship, timed with New York Fashion Week. Seven windows depict three sand dunes, three snowy peaks, and a central scene where sand meets snow. Additionally, live runway models will animate the windows, interacting with video panels before being replaced by mannequins the next day.
What This Means for Enninful and Moncler
For Edward Enninful, this is his first formal move into designing a full collection, beyond styling or editorial work. The collaboration reflects Moncler Genius’s mission of co-creating with influential voices who bring new narratives to outerwear.
