Fashion, Beauty & Lifestyle News for December

December usually brings a breather in fashion’s fast-moving calendar. Runways pause, schedules ease, and the industry quietly catches its breath before the new year rush begins.
But a slowdown does not mean silence.
This year’s final weeks are filled with bold corporate moves, creative reinventions, pop-up culture comebacks and holiday activations that signal where fashion is heading next. From billion-dollar acquisitions to seaside bakeries and luxury scavenger hunts, the end of the year feels anything but sleepy.
Here are the fashion moments closing out the year and setting the mood for the season ahead.

Prada Group Acquires Versace in Landmark Deal

Two titans of Italian fashion are now under the same banner.
The Prada Group has completed its acquisition of Versace in a $2.2 billion deal, officially uniting two design philosophies that could not be more different. Versace’s maximalist glamour now sits alongside Prada’s sharp minimalism and the youthful, disruptive energy of Miu Miu.
The acquisition follows full regulatory approval and signals a fresh chapter for Versace after several challenging post-pandemic seasons under former owner Capri Holdings.
Leadership of the brand’s next era will be overseen by Lorenzo Bertelli, with no immediate changes announced to the current management structure. Meanwhile, Versace continues its creative recalibration under new designer Dario Vitale, formerly of Miu Miu, as it prepares to integrate into Prada’s Italian production network in the coming year.
