080 Barcelona Fashion Goes Global

From October 14 to 17, the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site hosted the final edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion at its historic venue. The 36th edition brought together 24 brands, more than 11,000 visitors, and a mix of creativity and innovation. It became a space where established names and emerging designers presented collections that reflected both heritage and modernity.

Moisés Nieto and a New Chapter

Designer Moisés Nieto, known for his work in Madrid, made his debut on the Barcelona runway with a collection that celebrated 15 years of his brand. His designs focused on comfort, simplicity, and strong tailoring, combining sensitivity and modern energy in equal measure. The collection revisited iconic details from his early years, including miniskirts and short dresses, showing a full-circle creative evolution.

Guillermina Baeza and the Spirit of Reinvention

Swimwear label Guillermina Baeza also took part in the event. The brand, a longstanding symbol of Catalan fashion, emphasized versatility and elegance in its new collection. Its creative direction under Belén Larruy Baeza focused on turning swimwear into fashion fit for every occasion. The house will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025 with a renewed focus on international expansion toward markets such as Mexico, Chile, and Australia.

Custo Barcelona and Global Momentum

Custo Barcelona concluded the event with its Spring–Summer 2026 line, featuring twenty fresh looks that had also been shown in Madrid and New York. The brand is celebrating 45 years in fashion by strengthening its e-commerce presence and opening new boutiques in Madrid and Milan. Its continued success symbolizes the growing global appeal of Spanish creativity.

Strengthening International Presence

The international strategy of 080 Barcelona Fashion continues to evolve through collaborations with brands that are expanding beyond Spain. Labels such as Eikō Ai, Habey Club, and Reparto Studio focus on global online sales, particularly in the United States and Europe. Their collections represent artistic design and creative experimentation that appeal to a global audience.

Eikō Ai, based in Barcelona, has been part of 080 since 2019 and has built a strong international following through multi-brand stores in France and Italy. Other young labels like Reparto Studio plan to move from e-commerce into wholesale to secure physical points of sale worldwide.

New Partnerships and Initiatives

Director Marta Coca confirmed that internationalization remains one of the main objectives of the platform. The 36th edition introduced a partnership with Spain Gallery, a digital initiative that promotes Spanish fashion through online retail and brand directories. The event also featured the 080Spot_SpainGallery area, where workshops, talks, and showcases highlighted the diversity of Spanish design.

The show presented a new concept called 080_BeyondCrafts, dedicated to craftsmanship and the role of handmade design in contemporary fashion. Outside the main venue, a pop-up shop within the Barcelona Fashion Forward program featured four emerging labels, offering visitors a glimpse of the city’s creative future.

Looking Ahead

The 36th edition was organized by the Generalitat de Catalunya through the Consorci de Comerç, Artesania i Moda de Catalunya, with support from Barcelona City Council. The event’s total budget reached 2.15 million euros, marking a significant investment in the creative sector.

With the farewell to Sant Pau, organizers are now exploring new venues for the next edition scheduled for April. The aim is to find a space that reflects Barcelona’s modern identity while maintaining the event’s unique connection to the city.
